Why IH Bristol

We often have groups visit us at IH Bristol, and this year we started with a college group from Switzerland. They visited us for two weeks and we arranged a variety of activities for them during their stay.

As an adult group, the students were keen to experience the local night life, and so we started their visit with welcome drinks at an authentic British pub, The Mall in the heart of Clifton Village.

Later in the week the students had the opportunity to visit Airhop, the world’s biggest trampoline park, where they had great fun bouncing around. This group were particularly sporty in fact, so we even organised a two part football tournament between them and our other students, which was both popular & competitive!

Continuing the student’s interest in local culture, we arranged an evening at the Bristol Cider Festival, where the students had a chance to sample over 100 different ciders, a drink that is considered to be at the heart of West Country life!

The group’s teachers were keen to ensure that the trip included some cultural visits too, so we planned a couple of day trips for the students; one to the Roman Baths in the nearby city of Bath & another to the prestigious university city of Oxford, not to mention an afternoon on one of Bristol’s most famous landmarks, Brunel’s famous ship, the SS Great Britain.

It is really important to us that all of our students have the opportunity to make the most of their free time in Bristol, however they & their teachers prefer, whether it be sports, social trips or cultural & historical days off. Whatever your interests, we will design a programme to suit!

Oh, and of course I should mention that all members of our closed groups can take home a #Bristol2016 tshirt as a souvenir! I look forward to welcoming you to Bristol soon!
