Marhaba! My name is Ali and I have been teaching Arabic for the past five years. I came to the UK to study English many years ago and I have been living here ever since. I moved to Bristol a few months ago and I absolutely love the city and its free-spirited culture. I have an MA in linguistics based translation and a Celta from the University of Bristol. As well as teaching Arabic and English, I also work as a Court and Medical Interpreter and it feels great being able to contribute to society through my languages.
When I came to the UK I didn’t speak a single word of English. This allows me to empathise and to understand what it feels like to learn a new language. As a teacher I always strive to get the most out of my students as I firmly believe that, given enough practice and persistence, anyone can become fluent in Arabic. Learning Arabic will take you on a fun and fascinating journey across new cultures. I use a lot of authentic material in my teaching. This allows students to develop communicative competence and exposes students to the language in many different contexts.
I invite you to join me to broaden your horizons and I look forward to meeting you!
