Students of the Month

Carlos is from Pasto in Colombia, which is the capital of Narino state. He is at school and is studying English in order to go to university to study Physical Engineering. As English is an international language he also says it will be useful for travel.

Carlos decided to come to Bristol after his agent recommended it as a lovely city. He is enjoying the different culture here and likes the safety and the welcoming nature of the people in Bristol.

He says that his agent also recommended the school, saying it was the best school in the city, and Carlos says he likes the location, having a lot nearby, and that the teachers are really good. He also appreciates the free coffee!

The teachers nominated Carlos as the student of the month because of his continued participation and hard work in lessons, as well as the fact he joins in with many of our social programme events. Well done Carlos!

Maria is originally from Barcelona but lived and worked in Geneva for much of her life. She now lives in France. She is studying English to communicate more with all the people she meets. When Maria stopped working, her boss gave her an IH Bristol language course as a retirement gift and she has been enjoying learning so much and experiencing a new culture and city.

Maria does her classes in the morning and works in a charity shop in the afternoon to practise her English even more. She is enjoying her experience and has decided to stay longer.  She likes the simplicity of the school, the calm atmosphere and the kitchen. She enjoys the funny lessons and likes her classmates a lot.

The teachers nominated Maria because of how hardworking and dedicated she is lessons; she has a great attitude to learning, is very motivating to other students and never afraid of a challenge. Good work Maria!
