Students of The Month
Congratulations to our October Students of the Month, Sina and Mohammed!!
Sina is from Switzerland and has been studying at IH since August. She says that English has been her favourite language since the 3rd grade at school, and that for a long time her dream was to come to England for 6 months to learn English, and to do a Cambridge exam in order to get a job where she can speak English all day.
She chose IH Bristol after signing up to an organisation which recommended it to her, and has been very happy with her choice.
Sina likes Bristol as it is a big change from her village in Switzerland, and says that when she arrived she thought ‘this is a city I could live in.’ Everyone here is friendly and she has even been mistaken for a local in the past!
She says that the teachers and phrase of the day are highlights at the school, and that the classes are different every time. Also, the teachers are especially welcoming for new students.
Sina was nominated as student of the month after studying consistently hard over the past few months. She is keen to help other students and makes the most of the new language she learns in class by recycling it regularly. Congratulations!
Mohammed has been studying with us since September and is from Saudi Arabia.
He is studying English because he wants to get a good job in the future. Having worked for a bank previously, he now intends to look for work possibly in the social media sector. He has been studying English for 6 months.
He chose to study at IHB because he had been searching for good schools west of London, and after a friend recommended Bristol to him he decided on IHB.
Mohammed says that he likes the location of the school as it is near both the city centre and his house. The other thing he likes here is the teachers, because they have good techniques and their use of the boards and visual aids means he doesn’t need to use a translator to understand new words.
He says that he likes Bristol because of the river and the bridge, and that it is convenient for accessing other areas like London and Cardiff.
The teachers chose Mohammed as student of the month because he always works hard in class and demonstrates good study techniques, asking good questions and taking notes of new vocabulary. Well done!
Congratulations to you both!
