Students of the Month - August 2020
Congratulations Juan and Roxana!
Both students have been studying with us since we reopened on 3rd August (Juan started online first, while quarantining) and complete their courses today - the month has flown by! Our teachers explain why their Student of the Month recognition is so well-deserved:
Juan is from Gran Canaria in Spain, has recently moved to Bristol to begin a degree in Business Adminstration at UWE, and wanted to get his English up to the necessary standard.
He feels at home in Bristol thanks to its young and multicultural atmosphere, and he also enjoys its vibrancy and freedom. His favourite thing about IH Bristol is the relationship between the staff, teachers and students. He commented that we are like one family!
Teachers appreciate Juan for his hardwork and his allround positive attitude. He’s always willing to help out his fellow students and his contributions to class are much valued by his teachers. He’s become a familiar face for us both online and at the school, and we look forward to teaching him a little longer until he starts his university studies.
Roxana is from Turin in Italy, and is studying English as both a personal challenge, and to improve her future opportunities. Although she has only been in Bristol for a short time, she already feels like one of the family here at IH.
She has really enjoyed her time in Bristol, and said that despite the rain it’s a very colourful place, and the people are both friendly and welcoming. Roxana found the teaching style to be both enjoyable and memorable, and appreciated how involved in the lessons the students were.
Roxana has been a delightful presence in her lessons, with her positive attitude bringing a ray of sunshine to her classes. She has excellent study skills, and her dedication to her studies has both impressed and inspired her fellow students. This, along with her curiosity for language, has helped her make a great amount of progress.
It's bittersweet to say goodbye, but we wish both students the very best with their next steps!
