OET exam FAQs

• You can change the date any time up to 24 hours before your test date.

• The administration fee is AUD 120 before the application closing date.

• The administration fee is AUD 200 after the application closing date.

If you have registered for OET but cannot come on your test date, for any reason, you can change to another test date. The rules and fees above apply:

• You can change the date any time up to 24 hours before the test date.

• You must choose a future open test date.

• There are no refunds for changing the date.

• You must move your whole application.

• You cannot undo a date change.

You must book your OET exam on the OET Website(Opens in a new tab/window). 

You must be 18 years old or older to take the OET test.

The OET test fee is AUD $587 for all four sub-tests. If you have taken the full OET test before, you can book single sub-tests:

• 1 sub-test: AUD $315
• 2 sub-tests: AUD $415
• 3 sub-tests: AUD $515

The ID you register with must be the same ID you bring on the test day. You cannot take the exam without it. Your ID must be valid – we cannot accept an expired ID.

You can apply with:

• A valid government ID. This must be a National ID from the country where you take the test (a UK National ID for tests at International House Bristol). It must show your full name, photo and date of birth. A driving licence is not accepted.
• A valid passport. It must show your full name, date of birth, photo and expiry date.
