Student welfare

We are family and when you study with us, you are a member of that family. This means we want to make sure you are happy so if there is anything causing you a problem or worrying you, please come and tell us. We all want to help. We will do whatever we can to help solve problems for you and to make your stay with us enjoyable. Tell us as soon as there is an issue so we can solve it and you can enjoy the rest of your stay.

You can speak to any member of staff or you can ask to speak to a particular person - whatever is best for you! Val Hennessy and Pete Gibson are always ready to listen to students and to address any issues and they love to hear good suggestions, too, so if there is something that you think could make IH Bristol even better, tell us. Don't wait until you are leaving to let us know about something that will make life better for everyone.

Issues, problems or worries

Living away from home can be stressful for some and sometimes you will need our help. We are here for you so don't hesitate to come and ask us. 

Academic 

If you have concerns or issues with your class or your progress, the best people to speak to are your teachers. They will help and advise you and, if they cannot help with a particular problem, they will send you to speak to the DOS, Pete.

Accommodation & Welfare

Any questions or concerns you have about accommodation, homestay or residence, should go to the accommodation team, Lu and Charlie A. We want you to be happy in Bristol, so we will do all we can to sort out any issues you may have. Britta and Noelia can also help with information about doctors, dentists, visas, shopping, places of worship, etc.

For anything else, you can speak to whichever member of staff you are most comfortable with.

Complaints

In case of complaints, please come and speak with one of our team. We will do everything we can to help make the situation better for you. We are here to help! You can speak to reception, or to one of your teachers. If it is a problem with accommodation, you can speak to one of the Accommodation team. If it helps you, there is a 'Change of Host Family' request form we can give you.
